This year the NJROTC unit at Oviedo High School will be taking an orientation trip up to Pensacola, Florida. The trip lasts for three days, January 17-19, 2020. For meals we go to the galley and interact with people who are active duty. On our second day on the trip we visit the National Naval Aviation Museum. At the museum there are planes from all parts of history, as well as modern technology, including simulators, to allow for people to experience what it is like in a military aircraft. After the museum we go to a tax-free store called the Navy Exchange. On our third day we go up further to Mobile, Alabama to visit the USS Alabama. Not only do we get to see the USS Alabama, we also get to see a WWII submarine called the USS Drum. After our trip to see the USS Alabama, and the USS Drum, we head back to the school. We leave Friday morning, and return Sunday evening. Cadets must be in good standing with their cadet accounts and their grades. Any student who has an F at the end of the semester for any class, will not be allowed to go on the trip. The cost of the trip is $125.00 and there is a maximum of 52 cadets able to go on the trip.
